The group’s style was initially Jazz-rock and has evolved since. Elements of electro music (samples, vocals, sound effects on acoustic instruments) as well as elements of world music (flamenco, Brazilian, oriental, dub ragga, drum and bass, Celtic, hip hop and house music) were added to pure jazz improvisation (gained from their musical training and experience playing live). As chameleons can change their colour depending on their environment, Isotop takes the best of modern music and makes it their own. This particular blend of music gives them their own unique and undeniably recognisable sound. They do not simply fit into the conventional « electro-jazz » mould, they invent a new style; ELECTRO FUSION.
