Close harmony sibling country music duo from West Virginia. Sonny and Honey Davis were both born in 1926 in New Lexington, Ohio. They achieved their first notoriety at age 12 after winning the Ohio State Fair Amateur Contest in 1938. Joined radio's WMVA Jamboree two years later. The Twins later joined Grandpa Jones' Sagebrush Roundup then had associations with WKBN (Youngstown, OH), KTBS (Shreveport, LA) and WTIP (Charleston, West Virginia) where they performed alongside Sleepy Jeffers. Most well-known song is probably rockabilly number “Pretending is a Game.” In the early 1960s, The Davis Twins were regulars on live morning television via WCHS-TV (Charleston, WV). Honey passed away in 2019. The following year, the duo was inducted into the West Virginia Music Hall of Fame.
