The GV-signet in various forms is used by Michael Springer as a moniker for his sound experiments and his musical output, which date as far back as 1979. In the late 80ies, it became the logo for the Phantonstudio, which is run by Michael Springer. The GV-signet does not have a specified meaning. Nowadays it might simply stand for "Das Phanton" (The Phanton, a pun made of "Phantom" and "Ton", German for "phantom" and "sound"). Handwritten credits on cassettes from the early 80ies say "Gali Vali". Another rumor (most likely spread by Springer himself) tells us that the original meaning was "Geschlechtsverkehr" (sexual intercourse).
