Fred Perreard

Jazz Pianist. Born in 1994, Fred Perreard touched his first piano at the age of only four. As a teenager, he discovered jazz and loved Bill Evans' album «Explorations». Inspired by pianists such as Gerard Clayton, Robert Glasper, Aaron Goldberg and Chris Potter, he founded the Fred Perreard Trio at the age of 17 with Samuel F'hima (double bass) and Arthur Alard (drums). They recorded their first record in 2013 with saxophonist Baptiste Herbin and collaborated with Irving Acao, Glenn Ferris, Renaud Gensane, Jeremy Bruyère and Cynthia Abraham, among others. Trying out several springboards (Jazz à Vienne, Jazz à Avignon, Jazz à la Défense, Jazz en Baie, etc.), they won the Golden Jazz Trophy 2014 (2nd prize of the jury), the Trophies of the Sunside 2015 (1st prize), the Jazz springboard in Oloron 2015 (Audience Prize and 1st prize of the jury) and the Cavalaire Springboard 2016 (1st prize of the jury). The trio mainly plays original compositions by Fred Perreard. Each piece being an exploration of new harmonic and rhythmic territories, unexpected bridges are often created between groove and romanticism, transporting the listener in a universe both dancing and dreamlike. It is an uninhibited music, seeking above all to communicate the freshness that comes from the pleasure of playing together.
