The Russian Master Singers was an American vocal ensemble founded circa the late 1930s by renowned band leader Theodore Zarkevich (1893—1977) and specializing in authentic Russian and Ukrainian folk songs, Gypsy romances, and other similar repertoire. They toured extensively in the USA and recorded many 78 RPM gramophone singles and several long-playing albums on Victor, Remington, and Standard, a label founded and owned by the Greek singer and producer Tetos Demetriades. Some of the prominent members and soloists with Russian Master Singers include Antonina Anikina, Lucien Ruthman, Anna and Demetre Criona, and Gleb Chandrowsky with Michael Greben (1887—1943) from Don Kosaken Chor Serge Jaroff.
