Choshech

Choshech - חושך (darkness) is a Tel Aviv-based project that can be described as a mixture of post-punk, depressive rock, and atmospheric black metal. It started in 2016 as a solo project by Shay Mizrachi (formerly of Undivine Essence and [a1473947]) to express his ordeals through songs whose lyrics deal with the subjects of inner conflict, depression, and angst. Once the principal material was recorded, Shay approached his friend Stephan Friedman (Silence & Strength, Dismal Beeches, KCHÖRTOO) to help with drum programming and production. In October 2019, the debut album was self-released digitally and as a promo CD-R. It received extremely positive reviews on the local scene. So far, they played three concerts in Tel Aviv and are planning more performances.
