Japanese jazz drummer Born in Yokohama, Japan in 1963. He entered Berklee College of Music in 1986 and graduated in 1989. While there, he performed in the U.S. and Brazil with Hermeto Pascual, Paul Griffin, and many other musicians. After returning to Japan, he joined Masayoshi Takanaka's national tour in 1992, and in 1997, as a member of SOUL BOSSA TRIO, performed at the North Sea Jazz Festival in the Netherlands. After that, he performed jazz, Latin, and R&B live and in sessions with MAKOTO KURIYAMA, Risa ONO, PINKBONGO, MALTA, TOKU, Masaki Ueda, Masahiro Sayama, Yoshiko Kizumino, Bobby Shew, and others, and recorded with Jun USUBA JAZZROOTS, Masatoshi Mizuno, CHAKA, HIRO, DORIS, Ken Hirai, and others. In addition to recording activities, he has performed in orchestras for musicals such as "Elisabeth," "Mozart," and "Marie Antoinette," and is versatile beyond musical genres. He also teaches drums as a lecturer at the jazz department of Senzoku Gakuen College of Music.
