Canadian-American broadcaster and radio announcer (Born 17 September 1920, Toronto, Canada - Died 8 October 2016, New York City, USA). Began his long career with WQXR New York in 1947. Hosted the Saturday afternoon broadcasts of the Metropolitan Opera from 1975-2004, hosted "Live from the Metropolitan Opera" on television, and was the narrator for many films.
