American humorist, novelist, songwriter, radio talk-show host, and comedy writer. Born July 29, 1928 in Trenton, New Jersey, USA. Died November 25, 2012 in Plimmerton, New Zealand. He was a newspaperman in the 1950s who started his career as an obituary writer in New Jersey and he became a free-lance author starting in 1962. He was a prolific author of comedy for television and other comedians such as Bob Hope and Dean Martin. He was the author of the a James Bond-spoof Israel Bond: Agent Oy-Oy-Seven book series. The titles include Lox Finger; Matzohball; and On The Secret Service Of His Majesty, The Queen and You Only Live Until You Die. As a songwriter, he wrote the song "The Curtain Falls" for Jerry Lester. Bobby Darin turned it into a hit. Late in life he moved to New Zealand, to which his son had relocated.
