Josep Santpere

Josep Santpere i Pey (Barcelona, 1875 - Barcelona, 8 September, 1939), known as Josep Santpere, was an actor and theatre impresario with a long artistic career, specialising in operetta and vaudeville. A large part of his career is linked to Barcelona's Paral·lel and, more specifically, to the Teatre Nou and the Teatre Espanyol; in this case, he was at the forefront with Alexandre Nolla and his version of "Don Juan Tenorio" was a great success. Father of Mary Santpere.
