Γιώργος Γκόγκας (2)

(1920-2013) Recorder & owner of archive with Cretan recordings. Originated from Amari Rethemnos, Crete, he lived in Athens. Member of the Cretan resistance during the German occupation and vice president of cultural club “Κρητική Μούσα” He owned a shop of electronics and that is how he reached state of the art equipment for his recordings. Many well known Cretan artists visit him in his residence in Athens, these visits always lead to music, these performances were recorded by him, this is how the eden well a huge archive of Cretan live recordings.
