Об исполнителе:
SInce March 1966 the Hertfordshire town of Hemel Hempstead has had its own band. Just 25 miles north of London, it is one of the post-war New Towns of the country with a modern and enterprising way of life, and the band by adopting a similar outlook has etablished itself as one of the leading musical organisations within the community. The band was formed following the disbanding of the John Dickinson Works Band when the enthusiasm of the playing members helped to form the band which exists today. The band is currently [1977] a night-class operating under the auspices of The Dacorum College Of Further Education and its members are drawn from all walks of life. There are salesmen, printers, teachers, engineers, company directors and students. Together with a variation of ages ranging from 14 to 73 they form a good micture of experience and enthusiasm. The band has recently [1977] returned from a very successful trip to West Germany, which has resulted in an invitation to return again for Easter 1978. Currently under consideration are possible engagements in Sweden and Switzerland. Music director (from 1974): Clifford Jones (3).
