Oakland, California-based multi-instrumentalist musician, videographer/editor, composer, arranger, producer, and audio engineer. As a musician, Allen has performed nationally and internationally for over 25 years showcasing the music of Latin America, most recently with latin afro-pop band Guarandinga. Prior to that, 12 years as bassist, percussionist, and musical director of the pan Latin-American jazz multi-media arts ensemble, Quijeremá. Allen also manages a public access TV station, produces an annual Film Festival, works with area youth, and is the owner of Musiquito Media, an independent media production studio in Oakland, California. Allen holds a B.A. in American Studies from the University of California, Berkeley with an emphasis in Urban Education.
