Australian actor, singer, comedian, songwriter & manager (b. Helena, Montana, USA 5 Feb., 1896 - d. Melbourne. 9 Feb., 1967) Made debut as an 8-year old dancer. Later became vaudeville star appearing in major revues & variety shows In New York and London. Came to Australia in 1938 with singer wife Evie Hayes. They performed on the Tivoli circuit and in 1942 they leased the Cremorne Theatre in Brisbane with Bob Gerachty. Mahoney starred in the 1939 Cinesound film "Ants In His Pants" and later in various musicals. He was in the Australian production of "Funny Girl" (1966) and died during its run.
