Australian conductor, composer & bandleader (b. England 13 July 1888 - d. Melbourne 17 Jan., 1988) Musical director Blackpool Pier Orchestra 1911-1914. Came to Australia 1914 with Ada Reeve. Conducted orchestra backing Ada Reeve in her 1915 London recordings for HMV. With Reeve as her accompanist for 10 years on tours of Australia, India, Egypt & South Africa as well as UK. Returned to Australia for the third time on tour in 1921 and decided to stay. Conducted at the Capitol & Regent Theatres in Melbourne. Led the Palais Pictures Orchestra at the opening of the Palais in 1927 and stayed for 22 years (Nov., 1927-1949). Wrote and recorded incidental music for Eftee film studios in 1930s and wrote the score for Charles Chauvel's film "Heritage" (1934). Was on Radio 3UZ in 1940s.
