Chimera is a polish heavy/black metal band from Warsaw in Poland, formed in 2013 on the initiative of Rafał "Charon" Mazur. With a line-up of Andrzej Ruszkowski (drums), Rafał "Charon" Mazur (guitar) and Grzegorz "Dante" Ptak (vocals, guitar), the band was looking for a bassist. Meanwhile, Chimera was working on its new and first material. After a few rehearsals with various bass players, Kuba Cieśluk joined the line-up. In May 2014, Chimera played its first concert at the Avangarda club in Opoczno, thus revealing its music to the world. In September of the same year, the band entered the studio to record the drum tracks for the first full album entitled "Transmutation (promoted by the songs "Chimera" and "Kula w Łeb"). For various reasons, the work on the album took one and a half year. On the album, Chimera embarked on their first Polish tour, with eight "RISE OF ANTAGONISM" concerts taking place at the turn of 2014/2015, bringing Chimera more and more fans. The band shared the tour with Mammon from Wrocław and KOIOS from Warsaw. Another tour of the band, "THE TRANSMUTATION TOUR", promoting their first album with the same title, took place at the beginning of 2016. It ran for 3 months and the bands Obsolence and Stygmath accompanied Chimera on the route. The first LP of Chimera was released at the beginning of 2017. In the following years, the band performed a lot and changed the bass line, preparing material for the next album. At the beginning of May 2019, the recordings for the second LP entitled "Gloria Mortis" at Hainrich House Studio began. In the meantime, the bass cast changed again and Wiktor Waliłko entered the band. In 2021 Chimera changed their vocalist. Currently (20-02-2022), Chimera has published their new album "Gloria Mortis" and is slowly creating material for the third album.
