Woodfire

Brooklyn-based rock and roll trio Woodfire was founded by longtime friends Jesse Green (bass), Jared Goldwasser (drums), and Nathan Igdaloff (guitar/vocals). 2017 saw the band’s debut with Weird Fear (EP), followed by a series of singles. Groundsounds labeled Weird Fear as “straight rock and roll, in your face, and unapologetic.” Later in 2017, Goldwasser left NYC and Daniel Prata Almeida replaced him on drums after Green found him in a spreadsheet listing musicians looking to play. In 2018, the band took a more deliberate and thoughtful approach to their composition: they formalized a set of “Woodfire Strategies” like “cut that long ass intro”, “don’t make it too matchy matchy”, and “go back and listen to the original version.” Woodfire has unleashed their sound throughout New York, playing at Bowery Electric, Pianos, Arlene's Grocery, also Pete’s Candy Store, Muchmore's & The Gutter. In 2020, the band released 4 new singles: Fog, Me Rearranged, Feel, Sunday Night, all recorded live to tape, produced and engineered by the mighty Ben Greenberg (The Men, Metz, Uniform, HUBBLE, Ceremony) at Strange Weather Studios in Brooklyn. Their moms said the songs are great, though Nathan’s dad still prefers his high school band.
