Giuseppe Russo (7)

He was born in Santa Margherita di Belìce on 14 August 1912. After graduating from the conservatory of Palermo, he began his career as a music teacher directing the Montevago band. In 1943, during the occupation of Sicily, he formed a band to entertain american officers. He composed more than 33 songs including the famous "Si maritau Rosa" one of the best known Sicilian dialect and folk songs.
