Jack Harris (27)

American band conductor active in Britain in the 1930s. Born August 29, 1901 in New York, USA; died: January 10, 1976 (age 74) in New York, USA. Son of Russian-born Nathan Harris and his wife Rose. Both were born in Poland, then part of the Russian Empire. Nathan immigrated to the USA in 1888, and was a clothing designer in America. Jack's older siblings were Irving, Lillie, Edward, Isidor and Max. He also had another sister, Mary. In his younger days, Jack worked as a bookkeeper for a mining company and a garage.
