Alexander Mair (2)

Canadian manager, producer and record company executive. Mair started out in the 1960s as an accountant for Capitol Records (Canada) Ltd., then moved to The Compo Company Ltd. as a sales rep for label Apex (3) and also handled the United Artists label in Canada. There he met Gordon Lightfoot, whom he would manage from 1968 to 1976. He co-founded Attic Records Limited in 1974 with Tom Williams. He was president and co-owner until selling Attic in 1999. Mair served as board member on CAPAC/SOCAN, CMPA, CIRPA, OMDC, CMRRA, and FACTOR. Inducted into the Canadian Music Industry Hall of Fame in 2014. Died 25 Nov. 2022. Age 82.
