Fat Albert was a band based in Utah County playing shows along the wasatch front through the early and mid 1990s. Their energetic concerts and varied recordings drew influence from funk, folk, jazz, metal, and jam bands. They owe whatever modest success they found to Utah Valley's wonderful community of passionate and committed fans who attended poorly advertised shows in bizarre venues, turning these improbable events into inspirational, danceable parties. They loved playing at improvised outdoor venues, losing spectacularly at the ill-conceived "battle of the bands" events which were popular at the time, playing mildly hung-over on New Years day, and throwing especially odd and creative Halloween parties.
