Jeremy James Egger

Jeremy Egger is an Alaskan musician. He is the lead vocalist and primary songwriter for the Alaskan alternative rock band Photonak. He is also CEO and founding member of Photonak LLC. Egger was known by the alias DuckShepherd during his early solo acoustic work. These works from the DuckShepherd era (some as far back as 2006) were brought to lead guitarist Daniel Capote Ley and drummer Mark Glasionov in late 2014, who together formed Photonak. Egger's commercial debut is found in Photonak's album, 16902888, released on December 17th 2020 via digital streaming services. When it comes to his songwriting, Egger is known to use various alternative acoustic guitar tunings which he develops using his own unique ear. Many of his works also feature uncommon time signatures, beat changes, and time signature changes. 16902888's track, Crawl, for instance, bounces between 7/8 and 3/4 timing. While songs like Freedom for a Rebel have 3 beat changes. This adds to the progressive rock nature of Photonak's songs.
