Ciro Pimentel (b. Costa de Maya, Aragua state, July 14, 1919 - d. Cagua, Aragua state, June 30, 2017). Pimentel a Venezuelan folklorist began on harp in his early years, Juan Silva and Idelfonso Guzmán taught him the first lessons. In 1947, Pimentel met to the master Salvador Rodríguez who taught him the art of tuyero's joropo, a rhythm of venezuelan joropo played in central region, very different to Llanero and oriental Joropo. Ciro Pimentel recorded many LP as harpist accompanist of standout singers as José Antonio "Negro" Pacheco, Margarito Aristiguieta, Rufino Pedrá, Sandalio "El Canario" Hernández. Ciro Pimentel composed around a hundred songs and he was attributed with the foundation of "Escuela de Música Don Ciro Pimentel" in Cagua, Aragua state, the final place where he lived.
