Dr. David Kampschroer

Dave Kampschroer was the Director of the Blue Stars Drum And Bugle Corps from LaCrosse, WI. He was born August 6, 1940 LaCrosse, WI, and died February 17, 2015. In addition to his roles in education, his passion for serving children and young adults extended to his involvement with drum and bugle corps where he marched with the Phantom Regiment (2) before being instrumental in the growth of the Blue Stars Drum And Bugle Corps where he led the corps as Director from 1968 to 1980 in LaCrosse, WI. He was a founding member of Drum Corps International (DCI) in 1971, and was inducted as a charter member to the DCI Hall of Fame in its inaugural class of 1985. He then chaired the Hall of Fame committee for almost three decades. The Blue Stars selected him as a charter member of their Hall of Fame in 2011.
