In 2007 Gary Arce began work on a project that would eventually material as the project ‘WaterWays' - a darkly beautiful rock music the result of a long over due collaboration of old friends rich with shared musical history. Gary Arce & Mario Lalli have literally grown up playing and writing music together. 'Yawning Man' founded in 1987 by Arce, Lalli and Alfredo Henandez developed their signature sound with endless desert jam sessions amid the cactus and dirt bike trails. Tony Tornay and Mario Lalli have been playing for the last 16 years in ‘Fatso Jetson’. These three Desert Godfathers recorded the debut 'WaterWays’ album in 2009 at the legendary ‘Donna & Blitzen Studios’ in Glendale. This project featured Abby Travis on vocals and was due for release on “Lexicon Devil Records’ in 2008. However, the 'WaterWays' release was indefinitely delayed due lo legal issues and the recordings were locked in a vault to be forgotten about. Not to be disappointed, Gary, Mario and Tony returned to the studio in 2009 to re-record the original ‘WaterWays' tracks instrumentally as 'Big Scenic Nowhere’. The ‘Big Scenic Nowhere’ demos appeared on YouTube and a handful of live shows were booked in the desert including a performance at the ‘Date Shed’ in Indio and a performance of ‘Catamaran’ with John Garcia at the 'Desert Moon Ranch’ in November 20, 2010. Shortly after in 2010. 'WaterWays’ found itself released as a 7" split with ‘Yawning Sons’ on 'SpaceAge & Cheesecake Records' that was mastered at ‘Abbey Road Studios’ in London. The remainder of the album was released as a 12" split with ‘Sons of Alpha Centauri' and ‘Hotel Wrecking City Traders’ on 'Bro Fidetity Records’ in 2012. Now for the first time EVER these demos are to be made available exclusively as a limited edition CD accompanying the 2 x WaterWays vinyl. Included with these demos is a recording of their last live performance from the ‘Date Shed' in Indto from 14 July 2012.
