The OLPH Ridgemen was a junior Drum & Bugle Corps from Brooklyn, NY United States which was founded in 1914. They were sponsored by the Our Lady Of Perpetual Help Catholic Church. The corps’ colors were red, white, and blue. Awards included 1954 state standstill championships. “Riflemen” television star Chuck Connors (2) played baritone for the Ridgemen at an early age. Several corps alumni perished in the destruction of New York’s World Trade Center on September 11, 2001. The corps ended a 61-year all-male tradition in 1971. The OLPH Ridgemen merged with the Polish Falcon Cadets in 1977 to form the Falcon-Ridgemen, a name later changed to the Crimson Buccaneers. After a 28 year absence the Ridgemen formed an alumni corps which would make them one of the oldest (90 years) drum corps in the world.
