Everett Ellsworth Truette (14 March 1861, Rockland, Massachusetts — 16 December 1933, Brookline, MA) was an American organist, composer, music publisher, and co-founder of The American Guild Of Organists. Truette attended the New England Conservatory Of Music between 1878 and 1881. Everett continued his education at Boston University, graduating with his Bachelor of Music degree in 1883. He spent almost two years abroad, taking lessons with Carl August Haupt (1810—1891) in Berlin, Alexandre Guilmant in Paris, and William Thomas Best in Liverpool and London. After returning to Boston, E.E. Truette worked as a church organist and choirmaster at several prominent churches, including The Eliot Church, Newton, and taught privately at his organ studio in Boston. He had a prolific concert career, giving over 400 solo organ recitals across New England and New York state and touring nationwide, including performances at Grace Cathedral, San Francisco. Truette published several books, such as Woman's Work in Music (1904), co-authored with Arthur Elson, Organ Registration: A comprehensive treatise… (1919), and Schmidt's "Standard Organ Collection" (1920) in two volumes.
