Dotty Farrell

Austin, Texas punk rock vocalist and bassist. Farrell moved from Florida to Austin in the early 1980s. In Austin, she performed as a “Dazzling Wretchette” with Those Amazing Technicolour Yawns and began playing bass and singing with Jaws Of Life, (with whom she continued to play for the next 16 years). Farrell was a cast member of punk musical Boy Trouble and later became a founding member of the group Swine King, in which she played bass and sang. She also played bass and sang in the all girl reggae band Irie Jane. After Swine King split, she played bass and sang with Shootin’ Pains and fronted The Punkaroos. In 2002, she performed at The Austin Chronicle Music Awards Show with all girl supergroup Super Girls. She became an official member of The Dicks in mid 2000’s. Since 2019, she has performed with Jefferson Trout. Dotty is currently co-producing "We Got Soul: The Story of the Big Boys from Austin, Texas" along with an exhibition, books and recordings for the Punk Archive Initiative, a national nonprofit dedicated to preserving and sharing America's creative subcultures, where she curates and consults on the Texas underground.
