Hecatombe (8)

Hecatombe is a Punk/Thrash/Death Metal Flavored band from Caracas, Venezuela. The band started in October 1994 and in March, 1995 they debuted at the "1er. Intercolegial de Rock de la Fundación Nuevas Bandas", a competition for school rock bands. Even though they didn't win anything, they got the attention of Radio DJ Franklin Zambrano, who hosted a radio show specialized in rock & metal on sunday nights. From that moment on, you could hear songs like "Braquioproctosigmoidismo" or "Sin Agua Y Con Mal Olor" every sunday, helping the band gain notoriety in the underground metal scene in Caracas at a very young age (15.5 years in average). For the first anniversary Franklin Zambrano invited Hecatombe to play at the celebration in a club in Caracas, opening for Sentencia, who were also doing a release party for their self-titled debut CD. This was a very important highlight in the band young career that was also followed by the release of their first demo tape "El Burro Rockero" by Grabaciones Alternativas. Hecatombe continued gigging in the underground scene of Caracas until May 2008, when they went on Hiatus. In October, 2020 Hecatombe returned from its hiatus and is returning with a series of releases to celebrate their 25th anniversary since their live debut. Raul Colmenares is the only original member in this new incarnation of the band.
