Marilene Vieira

A singer, she was born in Niterói, Rio de Janeiro, where she attended the First Baptist Church of Niterói and began singing at the age of 11. As a teenager, she accompanied Pastor Nilson Fanini, former president of the Baptist World Alliance, on missionary trips around Brazil. She worked as a voice actress for Herbert Richers. He began his career in 1982 when he recorded an album with the group Scala. He launched his solo career in 1985, when he recorded the LP "Pequenas flores" (Little Flowers) for the benefit of a nursery school. In 1990, he presented the program "Biblicando" on TVE, in which he taught children the gospel through games, jokes and gospels. The program lasted only six months. Ten years later, she returned to television, this time on RBN (Rede Boas Novas), an evangelical subscription channel, to present the program "Ser Criança com Marilene Vieira" (Being a Child with Marilene Vieira), aired from Monday to Friday. In 2000, she recorded her first album in Spanish, "Corito para los niños", on the Argentinian label Produciones Cristianas. He also performed at the Baptist Church in Milan, Italy, and at the Baptist Church in Zurich, Switzerland, launching himself definitively onto the international market. With eight albums recorded throughout her career, she became known as the "Xuxa Gospel".
