Mykle Lyons

American jazz bassist originally from Ocean Springs, Mississippi. After elementary school, the Lyons family moved to Reston, Virginia. In college Lyons studied with Ellis Marsalis while attending Virginia Commonwealth University. In addition to Ellis Marsalis, he performed with Ellis' sons Wynton Marsalis, Branford Marsalis, Delfeayo Marsalis and Jason Marsalis, Don Braden, Ralph Bowen, Vincent Herring, Wes Anderson, Eric Alexander, Victor Goines, and Loston Harris. The Mykle Lyons' Quartet was the featured act at the 1992 & 1996 Presidential Inaugural Gala at the National Gallery of Art in Washington, D.C.
