Brisbane based musician, mainly of blues based bands. In the mid 1960s he joined “The Mourning Souls” as rhythm guitarist and then “Einstein’s Theory” (later "The Theory") on guitar and lead vocals. In 1969 he joined “The Hands Down” on led vocals. In late 1970 he joined Burke & Wills on vocals but left after being called up for National Service. The band moved to Melbourne and signed with “Image Records”. He started to write jingles for radio networks before recording "We'll Fight Back" in 1974 a fundraiser for the Queensland Flood Appeal after Brisbane was hit by the big flood of 1974. The record went on to sell 65,000 copies. The band put together for the flood single, "Mick Power & Friends" played till the late 1970s before Power formed jazz band “Cooljas”. He is currently in "The GrooveMasters".
