Grundlseer violin music The Grundlseer Geigenmusi - behind it is a formation from the Ausseerland, consisting of a violin (Christian "Eidl" Eidlhuber), Styrian harmonica (Martin "Wodl" Feichtinger), double bass (Martin "Mäscht" Exner) and guitar (Jürgen "Jumpy") Fleischhacker), who are also not afraid to let some strange notes flow into their music. The content spans traditional folk music from the Alpine region and Ireland, as well as interesting arrangements from classical and pop history. But why the rather traditional name of this group? One could best say that the musicians are well aware of their musical roots and that they see music as a language that can be understood by everyone and for which there are no limits. Since for them music is a constantly changing, renewing and expanding process, the musical development of Grundlsee violin music is certainly not yet finished. It is difficult to assess the Grundlsee violin music, to describe it is almost impossible. The most suitable thing would be to take four musicians, season them with a bit of stubbornness, add a few liters of hop blossom tea and wait until 1999, more precisely until the daffodil festival in the legendary Eidlhuber garden in Grundlsee. On this wonderful May day, the musicians managed to perform three pieces of music for 6 hours or more with one conviction. This may have sounded simple-minded to a possible listener, but this first appearance was one of the most beautiful and at the same time the hour of birth of the GGM. In the next few years there were cheerful rehearsals, a lot of tuition fees and some very passable performances. Attempts were also started to find the 2nd violin typical for violin music, but these attempts failed not least on the 1st G ... r, but mainly because of packing 5 musicians including instruments in a combination. In 2004 Geigenmusi dared to undertake a project that was carried out in the cellar of the former guitarist with a number of helpers. The project was called "... wegn dem bisserl" and became the first CD. Violin music reached a high point in its musical life in the summer of 2005: together with Willi Resetarits and the extra combo they were allowed to make music at a concert in the Sternenzelt in Altaussee. Inspired by this success, the 4 decided to record another CD. "No. 2 ”it should be called and was presented in July 2007 in the Gasthof Veit in Gößl. A pilot project arose in spring 2009 with the idea of producing a live CD for the 10th anniversary of the violin music. “Just like wia mia spün and wia mia san”, this is how the recording should be, with all the weaknesses and strengths. Or as the famous folk musician Blå Lois from Ischl said: "With the perfection of vu da Voiksmusi is a so, ois blåsatst eam in Staubzucka." And they stuck to it. Who likes a Schmarren without sugar?
