Stuart Proud

Audio collage, programmer and keyboardist. First came on the scene in the mid 1980s hip-hop playing alongside world scratch champion DJ Ratty. After getting hooked on programming and engineering, he developed his skills through Drum and Bass and speed garage. He later lent a hand on the Face on Mars project, which Kenny Young was working on with Manmademan and Nick Bartlett. The single 'The Bug' made the top 5 in the dance charts in Italy, Spain and South Africa. Stu later joined Kenny in some studio productions. Eventually 39vybes took off on its own musical direction and Stu and D.R. Ziggy combined forces in a two year studio lockout to create the unique landscape of sounds known as 39vybes.
