Об исполнителе:
Philips of Marnix (Brussels, 1540 - Leiden, 15 December 1598), Lord of Saint-Aldegonde and Lord of West-Souburg, was a Netherlandish nobleman, Calvinist politician and writer, best known for his role as counsellor to William of Orange (1533-1584) during the Dutch Revolt. Since at least the 17th century Marnix has been identified as the lyricist of the Wilhelmus, a propaganda song for William and the Netherlands' national anthem since 1932. However, this attribution has long been subject to doubt and is now generally rejected by scholars. Therefore, no uncredited attributions to him should be added to releases of the Wilhelmus.
