In 1981 Jack Kroon and knave Martin formed their first Band together, they called it Van 't Noorden. They split up just before their first gig. In the summer of 1985 Jack and Gerard asked Martin to join their new band called Private State. In short time this band developed to the most popular live-act in Volendam. After a while Jack and Martin started to write songs together and they discovered that their voices matched naturally.
