Hi Top Records

Founded in 1962 by David Hersk, Hi Top Records was a company associated with Junior Achievement of Minneapolis. Under the supervision of Mr. Hersk, students from local area high schools were provided with the opportunity to gain experience in the record business. Hi Top had a formal business structure which included a president, vice president, secretary, and so forth. The company held weekly meetings at the Junior Achievement Center in South Minneapolis. After achieving success with The Yeomen and The Westwinds, Hi Top Records ceased operations in 1963, following a break with the Junior Achievement national leadership.
