Royal Airforce Wildenrath

Commonly known as RAF Wildenrath, was a Royal Air Force military airbase near Wildenrath in Germany that operated from 1952 to 1992. In the first years after the return of the property to Germany the huge area was used for various cultural events. In 1993 it held the three-day rock concert "Rock over Germany" and in the following two years the annual reggae festival "Summerjam". One of the large maintenance hangars "Hangar 5" has until 2001 major national events, including parties of the youth radio station WDR 1Live.
