Founded in 1876 by Charles Gerard Conn and incorporated as C.G. Conn, Ltd. in 1915 by Carl Greenleaf, Conn Instruments was a musical instrument manufacturing company originally focused primarily on brass instruments and later organs. The company was purchased by Steinway Musical Instruments (parent of Steinway & Sons) in 2000 and was merged in 2003 with Selmer (parent of Ludwig Drum Company) to become the Conn-Selmer division of SMI.
