Sea Lion Record (2)
Настоящее имя: Sea Lion Record (2)
Malaysian label produced in 1970 by Super Lucky Record Trading Co., 87 Jalan Storey, Johore Bahru.
Sole agent in Singapore was Times Record Co. which also produced the Olympic label at the same time. Some Sea Lion Record (2) sleeves also show the Olympic logo.
Not to be confused with another slightly later Sea Lion Record label from 1970-1971 which was produced by Times Record Co. after the Olympic label was discontinued.
The easiest way to dusting the two labels (which both used similar Sea Lion logos) is by the catalog # prefix.
Sea Lion Record uses a GES prefix while Sea Lion Record (2) uses an SL prefix.
The SL prefix presumably stands for Super Lucky which was the name of the company which produced it. However, this name is frequently printed incorrectly ion the record sleeves. For example, SL 7707 shows SUPPER LUCKY RECORD TRADING CO. while SL 7710 shows UPPER LUCKY RECORD TRADING CO. (!)
The SL series ran up to at least SL 7725 and the series continues from around SL 7729 up to at least SL 7757 as LUCKY which was produced by other companies (Lucky Records Producing Sdn. Bhd. or Ho Hup Trading Co.) in Kuala Lumpur.
