Mothermix Records
Настоящее имя: Mothermix Records
Part of the Mothermix Group and run by entertainment entrepreneur Alexander Gregori, "Mothermix Records" was a Cape Town-based label that challenged some of the established distribution and pricing standards in the country.
Over and above the obligatory Pick 'n Pay Hypermarkets and Musica stores, in 2006 Mothermix Distribution also secured the unusual deal that made (new) CDs available for a price that undercut that of a single via the Cash Crusaders "value retailer" cum pawn shop franchise.
Hip-hop couple KGB's debut album "The First Born" was the label's first release in July 2002; it was initially sold at taxi ranks and petrol stations. Other artists in their stable included Kallitz, Brown (10), and Megan Brooks.
Inactive since 2007, Mothermix Records was effectively shut down the following year. Mr. Gregori has since ventured into mobile marketing and is now based in neighbouring Botswana.
