Meertens Instituut

The Amsterdam based Meertens Institute, established in 1926, has been a research institute of the Royal Netherlands Academy of Arts and Sciences (KNAW) since 1952. It studies the diversity in language and culture in the Netherlands. From 1998 till 2018 two studios, set up with the intention to digitize their own sound archive, were operational at the Meertens Institute. The studios were headed by Kees Grijpink.
