Freie Deutsche Jugend Westberlins The youth organization of the SEW (Sozialistische Einheitspartei Westberlins) was first called FDJW and renamed itself in May 1980 Sozialistischer Jugendverband Karl Liebknecht. The youth association was formally independent, but confessed to the policy of the SEW and was also guided by the content of the party. The financing came from the GDR where the SED was the only official Party.
