Israeli Eurovision Compilations
Настоящее имя: Israeli Eurovision Compilations
Co-inside with Israel joining the Eurovision Song Contest in 1973, Israeli labels started producing a unique compilation for each contest. These were not official EBU compilation, it was a local venture. Most of the compilations were out on the local CBS Records, but not all of them. The company that made each compilation, licensed tracks that participated in each contest, from various labels. Because of licensing difficulties, none of the compilations includes all of the songs from any given contest.
In 1984 Israel did not participate in the contest, because it was held in the same date as the local memorial day. There for, there was no release for that year.
Because of the decline in interest in the contest in the late 80's, the compilation for 1987 was the last one to be released for a while. In 1999, when Israel hosted the contest once again, a compilation for the contest was released - the last unique compilation from Israel. The '99 compilation was the first one to be an official release of the series, as it was done by the Israeli Broadcast Authority together with IMP Records.
