Musikforum Viktring

Festival at Viktring (Austria), successor of the Internationales Musikforum Ossiacher See MUSIKFORUM Viktring-Klagenfurt is a music festival in the south of Austria, housed in the premises of a former Cistercian monastery and organizing international summer courses and monastery concerts since 1987. With its foundation, the original idea of Friedrich Gulda, artistic director of the "old music forum", was taken up again. The MUSIKFORUM strives to combine classical music and jazz by highlighting and emphasizing improvised music and contemporary composition. The specific feature of the NEW MUSIC FORUM is the endeavor to integrate classical music, jazz and newer forms of musical expression - summarized, for example, under the concept of world music - into a common experience of music and to focus on both artistic and human encounters.
