S&C Records (2)

S&C Records was set-up by The Courteeners fan forum "Snorting & Cavorting" in 2007, as a parody to their label at that time [l904]. The forum derived from an initial project to run a D.I.Y label to support upcoming new bands, stumbling across The Courteeners in 2007 gave birth to Under-the-Counter Records (2). "[r14269482]" was the first release under UTC, a double CD packed with fresh demos, radio sessions and anything else clawed from internet sources. The newly formed label was abruptly put on hold as obsession with the band led to the creation of the Snorting & Cavorting fan forum. Under Snorting & Cavorting, many unofficial CDs with demos, sessions and live recordings were released from 2008 to 2011. The S&C catalogue numbers were just as complicated as the infamous Factory Records catalogue system. The forum released artwork with a digital download, issued with combined "C" and "DL" numbers, soon followed with the release of low key limited edition CDs. The artwork for the low key CDs were different to the initial digital downloads, also the "DL" numbers were removed but the "C" numbers remained and were clearly stated as a "forum" CD. Information about the availability of the "C" CDs was undisclosed on the public forum threads. Standard forum releases were issued with an "S&C" 3 digit number (S&C 001: Badge set, S&C 002: CD, S&C 003: Badges/Sticker, S&C 004: DVD, S&C 005: CD). In 2008, came one rather unorthodox live compliation CD, it was put out as a very limited physical flyer for the Jersey Live festival and issued with the catalogue number FL017. The Courteeners released their second album Falcon in 2010, providing a whole new batch of material for futher releases. With the fresh songs and band activity came the first forum DVD. Although the "iTunes Festival London 2010" was produced from a poor quality live stream on Myspace, the impressive audio justified the release. Later in 2010, circumstances triggered a hiatus from the administration and all projects were put on-hold, leading to the forum changing hands in September 2011. With the rise of social media and waning contribution across the once thriving fan community, Snorting and Cavorting soon stagnated with no further activity.
