USF Sun Dome
Настоящее имя: USF Sun Dome
USF Sun Dome (1980—2018) was a former name of an American indoor multi-purpose arena on the University Of South Florida's main campus in Tampa, Florida. In June 2018, USF announced a 10-year naming rights deal with D. G. Yuengling & Son, Inc, America's oldest brewery, renaming the venue Yuengling Center. Since April 2021, World Wrestling Entertainment have a long-term residency at Yuengling Center. See also Tampa Sundome.
In 1975, University Of South Florida and University Of Florida in Gainesville decided to build new on-campus indoor sports facilities. Two institutions decided to save limited state funding and shared the basic arena design. Thus, Sun Dome and UF's O'Connell Center have nearly identical core dome architecture with an inflatable Teflon roof supported by blowers. The $12 million Sun Dome's construction began in November 1977 on open land on the southeast side of the USF campus. The venue opened in November 1980, just a few weeks before O'Connell Center, with Alice Cooper concert as the inaugural event.
