The Cobbe Collection, Hatchlands House, Guildford

A collection of original keyboard instruments owned or played by the likes of Purcell, Johann Christian Bach, Mozart, Haydn, Beethoven, Chopin, Mahler and Elgar, to name a few. Plus a further 20 or so instruments chosen to represent highly regarded instrument makers. Located in the country house at Hatchlands Park, these instruments are maintained in playing order. Concerts are held in the original Music Room of the house, designed by Sir Reginald Blomfield in 1903. During the mid-summer break in the concert programme, August, the Music Room is displayed as a Composer Museum.
