Chiesa San Francesco, Pontremoli

According to tradition, the church was founded in 1219 by Saint Francis himself and was a privileged burial place for the Pontremolese, as attested by tombstones dating back to between the 14th and 16th centuries. It was enlarged in the 15th century and again in the early 18th century.
