Klankstudio Peekel
Настоящее имя: Klankstudio Peekel
Klankstudio Peekel was a Dutch recording studio of shellac records, founded 1934 under the name "Firma H. Peekel" by Hartog Peekel. His sons Michel Peekel (1914-2012) and Christiaan Peekel (1916-1981) continued operations.
Please note that most of the records made the studio are not eligible for inclusion in the Discogs Database because according to the guidelines "Discogs only catalogs items that have been released to the general public, either as commercially sold items, or as free give-aways." (1.1.3), so these mostly single-copy private press recordings by amateurs will not qualify.
The studio was located behind the electronics store of their parents at the Mathenesserlaan 392 in Rotterdam. The studio went out-of-business in 1963. They built their studio mainly themselves and recorded particularly on behalf of amateur musicians such as Hawaiian bands, piano players, vocalists and speakers. They produced a small number of records each week. Their customers got the freshly cut records, and the studio did not keep an archive of the recordings. However, according to a sleeve of the studio it was possible to create duplicates of their recordings.
[a653418] (1947-2022), another son of Hartog Peekel, is mostly known as tv producer but also made some records as a singer.
